Marko Rubel is an immigrant from
Croatia. He came to America to
get a job. For him America was
the promised- land so he sold
the only thing he had of value
in the old country, his car. He
got $3000 for it and came to
America. Marko spoke only a very
few words of English when he
came here. He was lucky to get a
job right way. Unfortunately he
soon got a reality check, after
receiving an email to come to an
all hands-on meeting, he got
downsized (50 people where laid
off!) Yup, his American dream
was shattered! He was shocked
how disloyal the company was;
they canceled the badges for
employees so they couldn't come
back into the building. Marko
quickly figured out that
Corporate America is not The
American Dream as he thought of
it. So what did Marko do? He got
another job, and guess what? He
got downsized again! Soon he
knew there was no job security.
Therefore, Marko Rubel had to
make it on his own. That is when
he started to learn about real
estate. Soon he bought the first
house, then the second house and
so on... There was no going back
or stopping him. He realized
what this Promised Land had in
mind for him: REAL ESTATE !!!
In one month Marko made
$100,000, back in 1999. He then
realized it costs him too much
$$$ to be employed, but he
didn't have the courage to leave
his job. It took him 20
houses before he QUIT HIS JOB! Just
remember, when Marko Rubel
started, he didn't know what a
DEED is, he didn't know what
ESCROW means. MORTGAGE? What is
a mortgage? He couldn't even
find some of these real estate
terms in the Croatian-English
dictionary! What Marko says is:
